Bonne Terre Mine
Once the world's largest producer of lead ore, Bonne Terre Mine is now flooded with enough water to hold the Billion gallon Lake. Any open water-certified diver can explore its 20-plus dive trails - averaging 40 to 60 feet deep with 100-foot plus visibility.

Join us on a trip to Bonne Terre Missouri, about an hour south of St Louis.
We'll be doing 6 dives: 3 dives on Saturday at (9am, 1pm, & 4pm) and 3 on Sunday (8 am, 10am, & noon).

There is also the opportunity to complete a unique specialty only available at Bonne Terre Mine, and discounts if you sign up for select other specialties:
- PADI Mine Diver specialty: $100 (requires 2 dives & is taught on-site through mine instructors)
- PADI Peak Performance Buoyancy: $150 (regular $200, requires 2 of the dives)
- PADI Night diver: $200 (regular $280, requires 3 of the dives)
- PADI Deep diver: $200 (regular $280, requires 4 of the dives)
Also, If you are taking Advanced Open Water, we can easily complete the DEEP dive portion of the certification instead of going deep in the lake.

Nitrox is available for $15/dive. If you don't have your enriched air certification, sign up as an add-on for $300 (regular $350, and we'll include your nitrox too).
More Information
Open water certification is all that is necessary to dive the mine. There are 65 steps to descend into the mine
Diving is conducted in groups up to 15 divers with the dive guide leading the dive and a safety diver bringing up the rear
- The average length of a dive is 35 to 45 minutes
- Average depth 40 to 60 feet
- Water temperature is 60° with no thermo-clines, year-round
- Air temperature is 65°
- Visibility is always 100 feet plus
- A 7 mm wetsuit and a hood are necessary to dive the mine
- No lights or knives are allowed in the mine (except lights are allowed for night diver specialty)
- Lodging is not included. There are several hotel options in Bonne Terre and Farmington (10 minutes from mine)
