The staff at Dunbar Rock is like family to us, as repeat guests to the Villa (and sister property Clark's Cay) we have kept in touch with many over the years. Even though we can't visit as often as we would like, it is always a delight when we get to see some of the managing staff at DEMA between visits. Their motto is "come as friends, leave as family" and we know they mean it and can't wait for you to experience their warm hospitality too.

The concierge diving has to be experienced to be appreciated. It is absolute luxury diving having all your gear taken care of between dives while you focus on more important things, like downing some snacks, soaking up some sun, chilling in the infinity pool or jacuzzi, or just sitting in the shade. They won't be offended if you want to do it all yourself, but we won't blame you if all you want to do is a final check before slipping into your BCD and jumping into the blue!

Speaking of the diving, it is some of the best we've seen, with vibrant reefs and plentiful sea life. Many of the dive sites sit along a coral shelf and wall on the west side of the island that are often protected from incoming weather and winds, making every day a good diving day. These shallow shelves also give you a beautiful area to explore during your safety stop or allow you to eke out a few extra minutes from your tank before you need to surface.

From the moment you arrive via a 10-minute boat transfer from the ferry dock, you'll be immersed in a serene and unforgettable experience.

Scuba Diving

Divers will enjoy concierge service and access to some of the Caribbean's most pristine underwater sites. The package includes up to seventeen boat dives with three dives daily Sunday through Thursday and two dives Friday morning, plus unlimited on-property shore diving. Snorkelers are welcome to join dive boats (weather and site permitting).

Prepare to be amazed by the underwater wonders of Guanaja! With over 50 dive sites to explore-and a few secret spots reserved for special guests like us-you'll experience a diverse range of diving opportunities, from vibrant walls and intricate swim-throughs to wrecks like the Jado Trader and a even small Cessna that crash landed into the sea.

Visibility often reaches up to 100 feet, allowing you to take in the vibrant coral reefs and abundant marine life that make this region a diver's paradise. With more than 300 identified fish species, there's always something new to discover (some unique to the island).

The reefs around Guanaja are part of a protected marine reserve and showcase stunning biodiversity. Rare black corals and a rainbow of sponges add to the underwater spectacle. As REEF Conservation Partners, Dunbar Rock sponsors educational programs and conservation initiatives to ensure these underwater treasures are preserved for future generations. They also install and help maintain mooring lines at the dive sites to protect the corals from repeated anchoring.
